Jackson Koivun began golfing under his father, George, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He won the 2022 Rolex Tournament of Champions. In 2023, he captured the Dustin Johnson World Junior title. He joined Auburn University and became a top-ranked amateur.
Jackson Koivun has earned a PGA Tour card but has not activated it yet. He reached the required 20-point threshold through the PGA Tour University Accelerated Program at the 2025 NCAA Championship.

Jackson Koivun recently tied for 11th at the 2025 John Deere Classic, marking his first top-20 PGA Tour finish. He followed that strong showing with a tie for 6th at the 2025 ISCO Championship. Koivun also earned selection for Team USA’s 2025 Walker Cup squad as the world’s top-ranked amateur. He ascended to No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in June 2025. In the early rounds at of the Wyndham at Sedgefield Country Club, he shot 68 in Round 1 and 66 in Round 2 for a total of 134. He stands at six-under-par, tied for 22nd position after two rounds.
